Partners for Climate Protection marks 30 years of climate impact across Canada

Led by ICLEI Canada and FCM, the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program has offered tools and resources to help more than 550 municipalities meet their emissions reduction goals over the past 30 years. PCP’s annual insights report highlights key areas where the program’s impact has been strongest and that continue to drive its innovative spirit.

Intake announcement for the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund

Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada (HICC) has launched its application intake for the direct delivery stream of the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund.  This stream will deliver up to $1 billion over eight years directly to eligible recipients to address pressing infrastructure needs and to enable more housing.  

FCM remains concerned that the proposed three-year development charge freeze could leave cities with urgent needs worse off at a time when infrastructure is desperately needed to service existing residents and support new housing. Please feel free to

GMF’s Accelerating community energy systems

Looking to boost your community’s energy transition efforts? The Green Municipal Fund’s Accelerating community energy systems program is here to help municipalities across Canada fast-track their energy system initiatives.  

With up to $200K in funding and a two-year peer learning group, this program offers the support you need to:   

• Identify and develop key community energy projects.   
• Explore innovative governance and ownership models.   
• Build capacity to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
